Where are the Lençóis Maranhenses located?

The Lençóis Maranhenses are located in the state of Maranhão, in the northeast of Brazil. The city with the most structured tourist base for visitation is Barreirinhas.

It is also possible and common to stay in the village of Atins (a district of Barreirinhas) and Santo Amaro do Maranhão.

The best season usually takes place between May and September, when the lagoons are full and crystal clear.


Each period has different characteristics, and we provide guidance according to the profile of the desired trip.


The most recommended is between 3 and 5 days. This allows you to explore different circuits without rushing and with better enjoyment of the experience.
